THE JOURNEY OF OVERCOMERS CHRISTIAN CENTER

Formerly Christ's Chapel International (Overcomer House)

Overcomers Christian Center was birthed in the heart of Pastor Charles Joseph with a vision to raise people who would walk in victory and live out their God-ordained purpose. What began in humble obedience has grown into a thriving ministry impacting lives across two nations.

The journey started in the most intimate of settings — the living room of Pastor Charles Joseph. With his wife, their four children, and his mother, they gathered regularly in prayer, worship, and study of the Word. It was a seed planted in faith, with no building, no resources, and no public platform — only a passion to empower people to overcome.

That small gathering gave birth to what was then known as Christ’s Chapel International (Overcomer House).

The church was officially inaugurated on September 21, 2003, at the Best Western Hotel on Clark Boulevard in Brampton, Ontario, with just a handful of members. Despite modest beginnings, the presence of God was undeniable. The church remained at the hotel for about six months, steadily building a foundation of faith, love, and discipleship.

In time, the church secured its own worship space, and later transitioned into its current location on Automatic Road in Brampton. Over the years, the ministry has experienced significant growth in both size and impact. Lives have been transformed, families restored, and leaders raised — all anchored in the vision of overcoming by faith.

As the ministry matured, God opened a new chapter — the expansion into Abuja, Nigeria, where Overcomers Christian Center now operates a second headquarters. This international presence reflects the global mandate on the ministry and its commitment to raising overcomers in every sphere of life.

Today, Overcomers Christian Center continues to thrive as a multicultural, multi-generational church with a passion to see individuals empowered spiritually, emotionally, and socially. What began in a living room has become a legacy of victory, faith, and purpose — a testimony to the faithfulness of God and the power of visionary obedience.

John 15:12-13 KJV

This is my commandment, That ye love one another, as I have loved you. Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends.
